Training and continued education is critically important to engineers and allied professionals working in the construction industry. This is particularly so in the field of tunnelling, which is fast-changing and operating in a high-risk environment. With this in mind, the Tunnelling and Underground Construction Society (Singapore) is organising a series of training courses, workshops and seminars to meet the professional development needs of its members and the industry. This is a course that all professionals engaged in tunnelling and associated industries should attend at some time, irrespective of the current stage of their career. The course presenters are well experienced and eminent practitioners in the industry.
The purpose of the course is to provide a comprehensive background to the planning and design aspects of bored tunnels and associated works. It is aimed at those who are involved in, as well as provide support services to the tunnelling and construction industry, including government agencies, clients, consultants, contractors and insurance providers.
Who Should Attend
This course is designed to cater for those who wish to widen their knowledge in the planning, designand construction of tunnels. It is ideal for young engineers working in the construction and consultancy sectors or at the start of their civil engineering career. This course is also beneficial to resident engineers and technical officers engaged in the supervision of tunnelling works. It is also highly suitable to representatives from client organisations, government agencies and those from the insurance sector, who have a need to understand tunnelling technology and best practices in design and construction.
